Don Duhamel's decade long march against nay sayers and long odds, finally paid off this week as Liberty House of Manchester NH opened its doors and is now housing homeless veterans in this Manchester, NH transition shelter.
Don Duhamel, 69 , and a 40 year veteran of the Army and Air Force has made it clear that "When they (homeless veterans) come through this door,
they are going to feel wanted. And it's going to be a home.... "
It is estimated that 250,000 veterans in this country sleep on the streets every night.
New Hampshire has 139,000 veterans, the highest per capita veterans population in the United States.
Liberty House will have a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, April 23rd. For details , please call Liberty House at (603) 669-0761
